GoodHome Painting Co. is, at heart, an old-fashioned company that looks to pre-20th century Europe, where housepainters belonged to a strictly guarded and regulated guild of learned craftsmen. It’s our regard for this bygone era of proud craftsmanship combined with our obsession for service and value that truly defines who we are.

We paint for tomorrow. We cherish the trust our clients afford us with referrals and future work. As this moving target never ends, nor does our ambition to improve every aspect of our service. This is made possible, in part, by bringing together our craftsmen on a full-time, long-term, profit-sharing basis. Our continued success flows directly from this home-grown commitment to our craftsmen.

Our value to you is only as good as the value we provide. When estimating projects, we discuss all options; every detail is considered and there are no surprises. We subscribe to the philosophy of a “baker’s dozen”: we give you thirteen muffins for the price of twelve … just in case.

We love interior painting. It’s where the details truly matter and are most appreciated. When we enter a home, our goal is to leave the smallest possible foot print —minimal disruption, lots of colour. We spend more time and money caring for our vacuums, drop sheets, plastic and protective tape than on brushes and rollers. Keeping your furniture, carpets, tile, baseboard heaters, door handles, electrical plates, etc. free of paint is just as important to us as laser-sharp paint lines. Moving through a household and placing colour only where it belongs is a delicate dance that we’ve enjoyed mastering.

Builder’s Story

Innovation Luxury Homes the concept really began back when Kevin’s father, a small business owner of a Central Texas framing company called Merritt Brother’s Construction, would take him out to their job-sites each summer when he was a young boy. While learning the trade, he admired the hard work and the dedication of all of the contractors and individuals who day in and day out poured their hearts and souls into what would in the end become a neighborhood full of families and children who would call that place home. He recalls seeing his father working with the owners of the home-building companies that would visit the sites from time to time and remembers thinking “That has to be the perfect job – that is what I want to do”.

While Innovation Luxury Homes would not exist for many years to come, it was then, during those early summer days and years that the “Concept” of the company at least in spirit was born. The years passed by and after obtaining his Business – Finance degree from Texas State University (then called Southwest Texas State University) he moved to Austin. After spending a brief time in the financial services industry as a stock broker and advisor, in the year 2000 he was able to formally enter back into the world of residential home-building.

Also in the year 2000 he married his beautiful wife Kelly and since then have had two wonderful children named Tyler and McCailey.  After a decade of managing the local construction operations of both regional and national builders, building and or overseeing thousands of homes, Kevin decided it was time to turn his long time “Concept” and dream of his perfect job into a “Reality” by creating Innovation Luxury Homes. With the same spirit of the workers he saw as a young boy, he too now pours his heart and soul into building the places that people call home.

In 2010 Kevin earned his Graduate – Master Builder designation from the National Association of Home Builders. Innovation Luxury Homes is a member of the local, state and National Association of Home Builders, where continuing education and professional development are the keys to success. Also a licensed Realtor in the State of Texas, Kevin can assist in helping clients out in the researching of potential home sites available or do a competitive analysis for a specific area.

Madaster Data Services For Real Estate

ABOUT US

Madaster is the cadastre for materials. Raw materials are scarce but limited and must therefore be well documented so that they remain unlimited. With the help of the material passport, materials get an identity, which means that they can never disappear in anonymity as waste. Madaster acts as a library and generator for material passports. An independent platform accessible to all: individuals, businesses and governments. Madaster is being developed under the supervision of the Madaster Foundation.

Madester Services

Madaster Foundation has outsourced the development and management of the Madaster Platform to an implementing organisation: Madaster Services B.V.  As of 1 January 2017, the day-to-day management of Madaster is handled by two directors. The directors consult with the Madaster Foundation on the policies to be implemented and represent Madaster at home and abroad. The directors are appointed in consultation with the Madaster Foundation.

Madaster Origination : Material Matters

In 2016 Thomas Rau and Sabine Oberhuber published the book ‘Material Matters’. The book describes the tranisition to a new economic system where consumers are no longer owner, but temporary user of products and materials. Their view was captured in the VPRO ‘Tegenlicht’ broadcast (“Het Einde van Bezit”) on Dutch public television called. Madaster was based on these insights and concepts. The paragraphs below are extractions of the book ‘Material Matters’ and based on interviews with Thomas Rau. The sections illustrate the conceptual background of Madaster.

Responsibility For Materials

“First, we must realize that with ownership comes responsibility. Nowadays, by necessity, all kinds of items end up in our possession for which, in the long term, we cannot bear responsibility. If the building we work in no longer meets our requirements, we are completely out of our depth when are asked to consider its responsible use. We are not able to take care of all (raw) materials that were used to create the building – let alone reuse them. To make things worse: we often have not got a clue which (raw) materials were used, or what properties these materials have.”  (Source: paraphrasing Material Matters)

Registry Of Materials

“In the meantime, we find ourselves in an untenable situation. We mine raw materials, turn them into goods. Those goods are used, or used up, and then thrown away – end of story. The whole chain contributes to this system: from designers and builders, to manufacturers and investors. This means that the consequence of consumption within this system is practically always the same: waste. “ (Source: paraphrasing Material Matters)
“What is waste? Waste is material that has ended up in anonymity. A lot of waste is incinerated, which could be considered a cremation of raw materials. How can we prevent this? By providing everything with an identity, and well by documenting it, by giving it a passport. Hence the materials passport. Subsequently, we must facilitate access to these passports, as to a library. This is how we arrived at the idea of a real estate materials register: Madaster. A public platform for the entire real estate business. You could look at it as a civil register for materials.

Our Offer

Madaster is an online register where your construction data is stored, with strong focus on security and privacy. The online register is offered as a subscription.

You can take a subscription as a user of the Madaster Platform or as a recipient of Madaster Data Services. All subscription have a minimal duration of 1 year. The price depends on the number of user and the total gross square meters of your real estate. Madaster facilitates registration of multiple buildings per subscription.

Madester Real Estate

Madaster offers you, as a private or business user, a central overview of all your real estate. In addition to providing insight into the materials and products in your building(s), the platform generates an up-to-date and detailed material passport of your property, gives insight in the degree of circularity of your building(s) and visualises the financial (residual) value of your real estate at the time of construction and demolition. All information is available online, securely and conveniently for you and, if desired, your internal and external relations.

Madester Data Services

We have a boundless ambition to make information ever more accurate, structured, and accessible. The Madaster platform offers a rich and growing quantity of valuable data that you, as a real estate service provider, can leverage.

The data of a specific real estate object remains the property of the owner of the building. The complete data set on the platform is supervised by the Madaster Foundation in order to guarantee the privacy, security, and public availability of the (anonymized) data. Through Madaster Data Services, this public data is offered to the market in anonymized form, unless the building owner has explicitly granted access to building-specific data.
Through our open technology, tools and techniques, service providers, governments, and scientific organisations are stimulated to join the Madaster Platform. The platform and its publicly accessible data drives development of new, innovative business models.
